Balance to Bloom provides paediatric occupational therapy for children and families, helping build the skills needed for participation, independence, and confidence at home, school, and in the community.

Services

Balance to Bloom offers occupational therapy services for children and their support networks across several domains including play, learning, socialising, and self-care. What services look like will depend on your child's goals and needs. Balance to Bloom offers individual occupational therapy, group programs, and school supports.

Child Therapy

Occupational therapy services for children 2-18.

Areas of focus may include, play and friendships, self-care, emotional regulation, sensory processing, and executive functioning. Therapeutic services may be conducted in the home, community, or at school. We work to find the best for your child and family.

Group Programs

Group occupational therapy programs focussing on developing children's skills and providing an opportunity for children to make friendships, and families to find support networks.

Each term our therapists run a variety of group programs in their area of expertise. Balance to Bloom also offers paired sessions.

Out of Home Care

Trauma informed services designed for children in out of home care. Balance to Bloom therapists have additional training in providing trauma-informed, culturally safe supports. We can provide individual therapy, group programs, environmental set up and support to transition to adulthood.

School Supports

Customisable services to support schools, teachers, students and community.

We offer therapist led in-school programs, teacher training and development, school screenings, and rural and remote school supports. Designed to support children with and without disabilities to thrive in the classroom and school yard environment.

Our Approach

Balance to Bloom uses a family-centred, strengths-based approach to therapy.

Children are supported to build skills through meaningful activities that connect to their everyday life and interests. Therapy recognises that children develop best when their environments, relationships, and individual differences are understood and respected.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral?

You do not require a referral for services at Balance to Bloom.

Dependent on your funding source, information from your GP may be required. Refer your child or family for our services here.

Does my child need a diagnosis?

No, at Balance to Bloom we work with children and families for several reasons. Whether your child is yet to be diagnosed, has a diagnosis, or just needs a helping hand, we are here for you.

What does our process look like?

Balance to Bloom was born out of the need to personalised, family-centred services. Our initial processes include information gathering, collaborative goal setting, and assessment followed by therapeutic intervention. For more information, we have put together a short document that outlines our process and costs attached.

What funding sources can I use?

Clients privately funding therapy may be able to partially fund up to 5 sessions through Medicare, in consultation with their GP, or through private health insurance. Balance to Bloom accepts clients through NDIS who are self- or plan-managed.
